Demon's Souls has been easily emulatable for most of a decade. Unless you are a masochist and want to deal with World Tendency by having online servers active.
They really are such bullshit artists, there is nothing remotely technical about doing cross-platform releases anymore and you definitely can't whine about having to develop for the PC if you're doing essentially a console port which appears to be what this guy is describing.
“How can we, given the situation, put our product lines together to make it affordable, without relying on steep discounts, to reasonably sell them to continue our commercial journey on a sustainable basis?” he asked. “I personally think that’s important, and there is an opportunity in that.”
Maybe don't bloat your companies with literally hundreds of useless university graduates and quietly contracting with third party SJW writing companies costing you even more money?
Sony needs to actually develop and/or publish games in order to even consider expansion. I don't know of any PlayStation 5 exclusives other than Demon's Souls, and that's just a remaster of a game that came out about 15 years ago. They'll get torn apart if they try to take on the PC market with their nonexistent selection.
The only one people are really interested in currently is Stellar Blade and that's not just because it looks good but the amount of REEE'ING over how good the main character looks.
Great, maybe we can get Killzone, Bloodborne and hell even some of the older games like Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter on PC. Those latter two might benefit A LOT if modders could be given access.
This is what pains me about Sony, they're like Africa. They have a TON of natural resources (IPs and streaming rights) but due to miss management caused by both internal and external (DEI and ESG) they cannot profit from them as much as they could be doing.
Give me Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls on PC already you fucking faggots!
Sure! But you'll need to connect a controller to your PC to play it decently and it will only play at 30fps with always online DRM!
p.s. Don't forget to buy our 6 new DLC releases we've got planned for $20+
I play everything on controller anyway, even rts games somehow.
I want a wired first party PS4 controller with windows compatibility. It's much more comfy than the sexbox controller but using it on PC is a hassle.
I do that already. Steam has configurations for it.
Yar, it'll suck fer just a little while, mate. 🏴☠️🏴☠️

I’ve beat it on rpcs3, but I want mods and shit! Somebody’s got to make the fifth arch stone!
Throw in the special edition of Symphony of the Night. Let us all glory.

Sony need to cut the diversity hiring and release some games.
Does PS5 have any games yet?

So according to Sony ponies this means they are going third party any moment, right?
The golden age of the console is over. They are now glorified X86 PCs. (Except Nintendo who’s making glorified dockable handhelds.)
