Washington DC does not deserve to be a state or have it's own courts, mayor or police service and should be completely federal so that everyone living there can ONLY follow federal rules and punishments: change my mind
DC wants statehood to get two new senators, who are going to be far left. If they wanted to give the residents representation, return the land to Maryland. But then you wouldn't get two more senators.
That's my point, if they are so desperate to put their thumb on the scales to have more federal control by becoming a state and having two lefty senators, why not make them live by what they preach?
Remove ALL autonomy from DC and anything that happens there has to be handled by capitol police, federal police and all laws have to be approved by going through the house, senate then executive. Make their lives feel like they are stuck in an eternal DMV.
