Not in any particular order but here:
Futurama - either "Luck of the Fry-rish" or "Amazon Women in the Mood"
Simpsons - "I, (Annoyed Grunt)-bot" (Honestly way too many to choose from)
Frasier - "The Life of the Party" (Same problem as the Simpsons tbh)
Supernatural - "All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2" or "Hammer of the Gods"
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 - "Rogue in the House"
Avatar: The Last Airbender - "Sozin's Comet Part 2"
Spongebob Squarepants - "Pizza Delivery"
Breaking Bad - "Face Off"
Seinfeld - "The Bottle Deposit" (its a 2-parter so I'll just call it 1 long episode)
Drake and Josh - "Josh is done"
(this is assuming you're not including anime as TV ofc lmao)
Made this kinda on the fly as I don't usually think about a general "top 10 episodes list" when considering media I enjoy. Usually its just if I like the show a lot or not tbh, there's a few on here that are my clear favorites but others I had to think about it and I'm shakier on including or would probably replace with something else or another show.
Is Supernatural any good? I never watched it because it came across like Charmed in the ads. My son would agree with Sozins Comet. And I can't really comment on the TMNT or Drake & Josh but all the other episodes are great - Futurama was another that just missed my top 10
I never watched Charmed, but looking at the ad, I can see why you'd think that.
Personally I think it depends on what type of person you are, some people naturally like it and others aren't really interested in it. I'm one of the former.
Supernatural involves 2 chad-like dudes (brothers) who are demon and monster hunting which is already drastically different than 3 chicks, and its a lot more "conventional" in that they use things like weapons like shotguns, traps, and some hand to hand combat in the show. They do eventually get some powers later on though but its usually not anything too crazy until way later.
If I had to give what I feel are its selling points:
However, there is always a point in the later seasons where I drop off. The writing does get worse as it goes on, some fans feel there are different points in time where it drops off. For me, I feel it starts dropping off rapidly in quality around... I'd guess either season 8 or 9 or maybe 10, but its been a while. I definitely remember that I couldn't really handle watching the double digit seasons and never finished the show, but I enjoyed what I did watch plenty.
I have to admit my interest was piqued when I saw a review of some episodes and one was about this whole universe being a simulation. I'll have to see what streaming platform its on in Australia
Interesting Simpsons choice. I just saw "Lisa The Vegetarian" the other day and realized how much I love that episode.
You don't win friends with salad!
1 - Star Trek: Deep Space 9 - "In the Pale Moonlight"
2 - Stargate SG-1 - "Window of Opportunity"
3 - Fringe - "A Short Story About Love"
4 - Forever - "Skinny Dipper"
5 - Yellowstone - "No Kindness For the Coward"
6 - Babylon 5 - "The Coming of Shadows"
7 - The Expanse - "It Reaches Out"
8 - Quantum Leap - "Mirror Image"
9 - The Twilight Zone - "Time Enough At Last"
10 - Have Gun - Will Travel - "Genesis"
"But, where is righteousness, noble Paladin? Where is your cause? You remember, there's always a dragon loose, somewhere."
I do like Time Enough at Last. Twilight Zone really sucked after the reboot - I wish they would go back to the classic days
I had never heard of Forever or Have Gun Will Travel - are they old?
Have Gun - Will Travel is very old, late 50s, early 60s. Only ran in black & white, though colorized episodes exist. Some of the people who got their starts on this show went on to be very big names in Hollywood.
Forever is from 2014. It was a great show, essentially combined the Sherlock craze from that time with NYC crime drama and threw in the "mysterious immortal" trope. Rated great, had great stars... and ABC killed it suddenly. Didn't even tell the cast, who had been told to report for film season 2.
Did it end on an unfinished arc? or was it more monster of the week style? (Forever)
It didn't really have an unfinished arc, per se. It turned out that there was at least one other immortal, and he essentially turned into the main character's unrelenting stalker/ fan boy. The main plot was pretty much procedural crime drama, but it was done very well.
Good list.
I'd have gone with "Potato" from season 2.
I'd also throw either "Arcade" or "Movie Star" from News Radio on there, and pick one of many from Seinfeld.
i almost put 'The Bet' from Seinfeld
Never got why that one was popular. It's alright. The Chinese Restaurant would be my pick. (and from the Simpsons, A Fish Called Selma)
Soup Nazi is iconic as well. as is Pez Dispenser. South Park as well had some great episodes in the day . top 10's are hard ;)
ST:TNG inner light
West Wing: life on mars
Third Watch: september tenth
Emergency!: survival on charter 220
The Mandalorian: S02e08 the rescue
ER: be still my heart
Those are all that come readily to mind. Ive been watching TV shows for a long time, there have been lots of good episodes over the last 50 years.
The Sealab episode with that overdone joke? That's your choice?
Hilarious series, but THAT episode?
There's only one way to fix this.
I hereby declare Martian Law.
I must have been really high watching that episode because it totally cracked me up
God, that show fell off so hard after the death of Harry Goz, voice of Captain Hazel Murphy.
Adult Swim shows can be very hit and miss. I loved Brak Show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Harvey Birdman and even the non animated Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, but of late some of the series have been very up and down.
It's a classic "The Doctor is IN!!!"
I realise that Best of Both Worlds is a double episode
