The Bipartisan Border Deal Just Dropped — And the Senate Republican Behind It is Facing Furious Backlash
Following months of discussions, the U.S. Senate on Sunday announced a $118 billion bipartisan border security bill that would also offer aid to Ukraine and Israel. The bill faces an unclear future due to resistance from Donald Trump and conservative Repub...
America is currently a one party state.
You have the Democrats that despise America and love their immigrants, war and being the donation box (cough laundrette) of the world.
And then you have exactly the same but in red.
I remember when the Democrats were the party of anti-war, at least on the surface. I guess it really is mask-off time.
oh absolutely
“Due to resistance from Donald Trump”
These fucking parasites. The man isn’t even part of government now.
It is actually true that Trump told the GOP to not pass this garbage bill.
I am genuinely thankful that Trump did the right thing for us.
Good news is GOP House Speaker says the bill is DOA in the House and won't be put up for a vote.
Hopefully he holds the line, because it should be DOA.
Less than 20% of the money has anything to do with the border.
Plus, the whole bit about how it's only an emergency if you have >35000 ENCOUNTERED illegal crossings in a week, or >8500 ENCOUNTERED illegal crossings in one day. Ignoring the fact that both of those numbers are too high by two orders of magnitude, you know a very easy way to ensure you have less than those numbers? Telling the border patrol to stand down when they get to around 2/3 of that number. "Sure, we went for a five hour lunch today starting at 10:30, but we only encountered 3000 border crossers. Everything is fine"
''It's only an emergency if the equivalent of the entire population of West Virginia enters per year. No that's not an invasion.''
Clown World.
Also removes all related court cases to a court in Washington D.C.
Seems the Biden administration got tired of states having a say in how they're abused by your Federal government.
That part I didn't hear. Just yet another reason to kill the thing. Poison pill is an understatement.
Translation: $10 billion to bring Palestinian "refugees" into the country that funded bombing their old home. Surely that won't backfire.
We need to start thinking outside the box of the Uniparty.
Two term limits for every elected official, and the same for every position appointed by an elected official.
10% flat income tax with the first $50,000 untaxed and no tax deductions. No federal sales tax either, that is what the billionaires want.
If we could solve these two problems, we could solve most of the other problems with this country. Instead MSM is weaponized to divide citizens into 2 voting bases to ensure the continued existence of the Uniparty.
Spending multiple millions on every single senate seat becomes a losing battle for the Uniparty when that seat is vacated every one or two terms.
And one of the main reasons for spending so much on buying politicians evaporates overnight when a flat tax with no deductions goes into effect.
Kill the tax loopholes, kill the political careers, kill the pond scum.
senators will go for way cheaper without an established brand name.
All term limits do is push the people in power out of the limelight. You cant solve the lack of honest and intelligent decision-makers by rotating the corrupt morons faster in hope those run out. You're never running out or corrupt morons.
Those are interesting points, but I have to assume that it would be harder for political machines to run new candidates every two cycles instead of throwing all their might behind one big fish for 40-50 years.
I would like to see term limits for the bureaucracy as well.
I'm generally against "boardgame-style" rules in politics, like "You can do X, but only up to N times".
Life doesnt have to be "balanced" : either a "move" is "good", and should be used as often as the political situation necessitates, or it is bad and should be disallowed completely. If a rule seems "excessively used", it is usually a symptom of a design problem with the system. Thus restricting "overuse", is attacking a symptom, instead of dealing with the root cause. In other words, a cop-out. Breaking your thermometer at whatever temperature you're comfortable with, will not fix your heating/cooling issues.
As such, conversation about term limits should be viewed as a symptom of a dysfunctional system, where people are looking for a "cheat rule" to get those they don't like out of the power position. But rotating out corrupt stooges(in politics or administration) every X years will not solve the problem of having your system overrun with corrupt stooges. You solve that issue with education and active citizen involvment. Possibly with a touch of firing squads - in some situations(though, obviously, I can't think of any modern real-world country where that last part would apply).
Trump had this plan called Schedule F. You see, the problem lies one layer below the politically appointed officials in the executive branch. Policy is now decided and carried out despite whoever is appointed to these departments. These people are un-fireable and no appointed. They are protected by a strong federal government union. Trump recognized that actual policy was being decided by these people and Schedule F would reclassify them as political appointees, as they were actually deciding matters of policy. Then COVID hit.
Also, let's talk monetary policy. Should our monetary system be controlled by rootless international cosmopolitan middlemen and bankers? or should it be decided by American policy makers exclusively for the benefit of the American people and Nation? Alexander Hamilton had many wise words to say on this.
Finally, taxes. Did you know before 1913 there was no federal income tax (and no globalist central bank) and that all income for the fed gov was extracted from foreign countries in exchange for access to our local markets? Tariffs.
changing the curtains won't change the wallpaper.
This won't do shit to secure the border and remove the invaders, as the feds are helping them cross.
It will do wonders to shovel taxpayers' money to Israel.
States should go help Texas and other border states do the job. The feds won't.
Public opinion is turning against immigration? Time to keep doing whatever we want while renaming it “border security”.
They would have shot all of these people two hundred years ago.
traitors, all of them.
Is this the version that allows ~2 Million more "refugees" to come in and become wards of the state and uniparty voters?
Shame on the people that sent these quislings to DC. Vote better next time.
