i've seen someone even try to use the "She looks like a child" arguement on twitter..........because female character that doesn't look like an orc is going to be subjected to that.
Its the end point of the "she looks a bit young" discourse that has been propagating in the last few years around anime.
Its why people on the Right who scream "pedo" at everything anime are the perfect useful idiot. Because they are easily swayed to the whims of these types of people and manipulated into doing what they want.
If you've seen that trend with girls recently talking about "the ick" that guys give, its the same thing.
They can't actually form a coherent and defensible argument against something but because they don't like it and it gives them icky feelings, they find a way to associate it with something super negative to try and sway you to their position on pure emotion.
People on the right do this because that's exactly what it is, and rightoids know exactly what they're doing. The "well ackshually" argument isn't going to save them from looking creepy for obsessing over people who are intended to look underage.

Social media recently had a meltdown over an American guy who moved to Colombia, started a farm, and married a local girl who looked too young for their taste. They shrieked that the man was a pedo and that the girl was a victim.
Lo and behold, turns out the woman was several years OLDER than the man. Did the internet apologize? No, they just started making up new reasons to shit on the guy. Plus, they also started calling the girl a gold digging skank, when five minutes earlier they'd been crowing about "protecting" her.
The reality is, theyre just hateful freaks who cant handle seeing prettier women do better and hate less than them.
Accusing men of sex crimes is just a way to get their hate out while loooking virtuous.
I myself, in real life, have had the police called on me in public because my wife looks young, even though we are the exact same age. Karens just cant help themselves. When they see attractive women looking happy with a man, their hamster wheel starts spinning, inventing sex crimes.
