Its the end point of the "she looks a bit young" discourse that has been propagating in the last few years around anime.
Its why people on the Right who scream "pedo" at everything anime are the perfect useful idiot. Because they are easily swayed to the whims of these types of people and manipulated into doing what they want.
If you've seen that trend with girls recently talking about "the ick" that guys give, its the same thing.
They can't actually form a coherent and defensible argument against something but because they don't like it and it gives them icky feelings, they find a way to associate it with something super negative to try and sway you to their position on pure emotion.
People on the right do this because that's exactly what it is, and rightoids know exactly what they're doing. The "well ackshually" argument isn't going to save them from looking creepy for obsessing over people who are intended to look underage.
