Not gonna lie they are getting REALLY annoying as of late. They're attacking Trump on the most petty shit that it's hard to tell them apart from the Dems which at that point you need to reevaluate yourself if you're sounding like the bumfuckers party.
I don't know exactly what Tucker means, but I did always get the impression that the DeSantis keyboard warriors were dragging him down more than anything. You do need to go after Trump in the primary so I'm not sure the correct approach but they always go about it in the worst way.
Ironically, I think the Dems have made it impossible to attack Trump in any way if you're a Republican nominee. Their over attack in the courts, his businesses, his associates and his family have made any attacks on him seem like your supporting their witch hunts.
Combine that with trying to get the spotlight, 2024 has sunk everyone running against him on the Republican side unless they tried to use it more as a VP nominee audition and didn't attack him whatsoever.
Which is exactly their strategy- encourage everyone to rally around Trump in the primary while weakening him in the general. Sad that Trump is helping them by trying to nuke their best governor and damage someone who could run & win, even if that isn't til 2028.
If this was said 2 years ago or even last year, I MIGHT go along with this.
Now? Trump could shoot a baby in the face and wouldn't hurt his poll numbers that bad. Biden is SO hated that even on the Dem side they go 'voting for the party' NO ONE is saying they're voting Biden. Especially if there's a third war America gets involved with Venezuela.
We're at the point where we're actually out of 'election fuckery can stop Trump' to the only way they can stop him is to assassinate him. The Urbanites hate Biden, the Jews hate Biden, the Blacks and Latin think it'd be gangster to have Trump walk out of a jail into the White House, the Muslims hate how much support Biden is giving Israel, the white women are REALLY hating how much trans shit is stepping on their stuff.
And what's the main story they are trying to bury? One of their staffers making gay porn in a Senate room. I'd be more looking out for hitmen and deep state assassins than some poll reversal at this point..
Wouldn't be an issue if you didn't run against President Trump.
Choose your enemies wisely. Desantis chose poorly...
There was no reason for Desantis to even bother running. His popularity was at an all time high, his position as Governor all but guaranteed for the next decade.
What a dumb decision.
Should have focused on the job President Trump helped him get elected for, Keeping Florida Great, instead of stabbing our President in the back.
He's termed out in 2026 anyway. He either has to run in 24 or somehow stay relevant between 26 and 28.
That's true. I did not think he should run this time, especially considering we think Trump was cheated out of 2020 and want revenge.
TBF Trump & his fanboys have been insane and absurdly attacking Ron since before he even announced he was running. And the Trump fanboys have been far more petty than Ron's team has ("OMG GURL, look at his shoooooes!")
Reminder that Trump took DISNEY'S side against Ron and also attacked him on his abortion laws, literally attacking Ron from the left.
I think Ron's problem is that he's been trying to act as someone he's not and thus it's come across as fake. Matt Walsh had good points about this- instead of trying to be Mr. Personable he should instead own what he's good at and what he's not. Say something like "I'm not as outgoing and charismatic as Trump, I focus on policy and results like turning Florida from purple to red, taking on big corps like Disney, standing up for parents rights and against sexual indoctrination of children, etc. I stood up to the left not just with Disney but sending a small handful of illegals to Martha's Vinyard, exposing the Dems on their immigration hypocricy. Unlike Trump I hire good, qualified people and have taken serious action, making Florida the most attractive state for people to live and do business. I may not seem like a fun guy to be around, but I get things done."
That's a weird criticism considering you are also criticizing Trump for his electability. DeSantis's abortion laws were going to hurt him in the general.
Trump can always shrug and say that all his role in overturning Roe did was kick it back to the states and then cite Ginsberg's own acknowledgement about Roe being bad jurisprudence to dodge that bullet.
Not really, since Trump can't claim he's more electable.
No examples, please.
