Firstly, despite the name...no, it's not horny, and is in fact quite wholesome.
I'm only halfway in, but so far it's one of the better comedy animes I've see. In my opinion, comedy isn't one of anime's strong suits, and only a few have seriously amused me. Those being things like KonoSuba and Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious.
This has been funny so far, though. Basically, an antisocial sorcerer who lives alone in the woods happens to rescue a, well, as the title says, disgraced noble lady. Due to his antisocial nature, he's known to the nearby town as the Demon Lord, and he often cackles manically over his totally evil plans to...try to make this lady happy by "corrupting" her to enjoy life.
That's the sales pitch. If you're curious, check it out.
By the way, two other animes I'd recommend, but won't go into full detail about in this post: Synduality Noir and Dead Mount Death Play.
Going to do my fall breakdown soon and that's one on my 'need to get to' list lol. Been a lot of quality that it's hard to watch everything but, plus side, plenty of stuff to watch when I become an old man hermit living in the woods.
The amount of good anime this season is absolutely ridiculous. You could reasonably follow at least 18 different animes this season and not see a single episode of any of them that was worse than "pretty good".
Do tell, my wife and I had a baby recently so we ran through our back list.
I watched like 3 episodes then gave it up, just seemed like another harem anime where constantly some girls show up in his life and all they did until then was like buying stuff for her or feed her some candy.
Also if you like comedy Aho girl and Watamote are pretty great.
Not anime, but the Korean series "Moving," a live-action super-powered humans (not superheroes) was pretty decent. Had a North vs. South Korea storyline that was surprisingly good -- basically humanized the North Koreans and put all of the blame for the fighting on the governments of both countries.
They've been humanizing north koreans for ages. Crash landing on you. King 2 hearts. Confidential assignment
Korean msm really wants them to love those North koreans
The humanizing of the North Korean forces wasn't what primarily surprised me -- it was the anti-government message. Just didn't expect to see that.
Well korean tv is pretty anti chaebols, prosecutors, politicians in general. And cops at times.
16Bit Sensation is pretty good. In fact, its latest episode makes fun of the western ugly women faces in video games and possibly serving as a cautionary tale to Japanese devs.
Thanks. Will add to the list
You haven't happened to have seen Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, have you? The dialogue in the English dub is drastically changed compared to the original Japanese (by necessity), but it more than makes up for it with the Voice Actors taking the absurdity already present and just going to town with it.
I'm watching Frieren, Hitorigoto No Kusuriya. Normally I'm not fond of super popular anime because I suspect if there is cheap gimmicks but no, these two are genuinely great anime with good characters. Sure the main characters are sort of mary sues but I find Japanese can seem to write likeable mary sue than the westerners.
Been looking for something to watch with the Mrs. now that we've run through Yu Yu Hakusho, this just might fit the bill.
No mention of Legend of the Galactic Heroes?
"Like on a Cappy boomer score, six and a half out of ten. Better than average. ANIME? This is eight and a half. It's pretty good."
The remake sucks. Its only really good for the updated animation. If you want the much better and more in depth written story watch the original.
Seen both, seen gaiden/etc, have the books...
Still recommend the remake for its better pacing in the opening episodes. The OG run is not something you throw at people trying to win them over.
the remake is good as a gateway to LOTGH. Its definitely easier to get in to than the original. But after watching the remake people should watch the original
