Now, I don't think this guy was a low functioning autistic person. At most he had the Asperger's, which means he's perfectly capable of not being a piece of shit.

Yup. They found him competent to stand trial meaning that he's just another violent ape who needs to be kept away from civilized society. The sad thing is that even if he gets the max sentence and by some miracle is forced to serve all of it he'll only be in his late 40s when he gets out and does it again. Hopefully he fucks with the wrong person behind bars and they solve the problem for us.
