One my cousins used to always give me the usual lines regarding the infestation of entertainment like "it's always been political/woke", "you are uncomfortable with female leads", "you are just mad because white males aren't in everything" along with all the other stuff everyone on here has heard.
The other day he called me after trying to watch the Obi Wan show on Disney plus and apologized to me because he said he couldn't unsee or unhear everything I had been saying. His preteen kids got bored with the show after one episode and he tried to keep watching but he said that it was blatantly obvious there was an agenda and that maybe I wasn't crazy when I said there was an obsession with diversity and less white representation.
I had already cancelled my disney plus when Obi Wan premiered but when someone told me that it was basically a Leia and Reva show I wasn't surprised. I remember hearing that it was originally supposed to be a show focusing on Obi Wan and Luke but the female showrunner said she wanted to include Leia (showing how clueless she was about the lore). It really made me sad to see so called star wars fans defending it by saying "well, it never said Leia had never met Obi Wan or him and Vader hadn't fought multiple times".
There is an EU book called Kenobi that is good. It is Obi Wan watching over Luke from a distance and getting reluctantly sucked into a skirmish between the Tusken Raiders and the local farmers. At least that author understood the lore he had to work with. Honestly Obi Wan could've been a massive hit.
The biggest problem that modern fandoms have is they see one decent episode and they’ll immediately defend the next 4 seasons of pure drivel. Association bias to a dindu degree. All the woketards rushing to defend marvels right now can’t even say anything about the movie other than “it was fun” or “better than (other crappy marvel film)”, they can never make an objective statement on why it was good.
In the comment section of RK Outpost (yes, I know I should stay away from comments but this dude was ridiculous) this guy said I was just mad there were no white people. I told him the only thing I was upset about is seeing one of my loves (comic books/collecting) being infested by people who hate the hobby and making it mainstream.
They always have the same buzzwords. People like that exist in such a state of denial they truly believe that the material will somehow get better if you blindly support every decision made.
I mean, that's just classic abusee logic. Buying your significant other a nice present once will have them defend you through like 6 beatings.
That's the lefts take on Biden. Can't name anything specific he's actually done but "he's better than that last president". Okay so he's better than the guy you called Hitler for 6 years. High bar.
What's really said is the amount of non-Americans who also unironically believe this. There are so many Euros who just blindly think Biden is better than Trump for reasons they can't name; all because the media told them to think so. It's maddening.
Kinda sucks that Dr Who is probably going to go through that very soon with the Tennant episodes come up.
Yea. Really sad what has happened to Dr Who and the disrespect with the timeless children nonsense. At least the classic episodes are on Pluto. I eventually want to get them all up to Matt Smith’s run. Capaldi is a good actor but Bill was a very annoying character
As annoying as Bill was, I didn't mind her season, because it brought Capaldi back into the limelight a little more compared to with Clara who Moffat kept pushing further and further to being someone on par with the Doctor, and it was just completely retarded.
So yeah, Bill was annoying, but her ineptitude let The Doctor be The Doctor again, rather than taking a back seat like in seasons prior to that.
And yeah, shame what happened with Dr Who. Maybe I'll be wrong and RTD will fix it, but I highly HIGHLY doubt that with his history (writer for fag-fest "It's A Sin") and the abysmal casting choices.
Capaldi was a great actor. I got tired of Bill but never Capaldi. I gave Jodie a chance and stopped watching after the Rosa Parks episode. When I heard about Timeless Children I was furious. I’m with you about RTD. Considering the times we live in I have trouble believing it will be good.
Did you see the Star Trek SNW Musical episode?
