My city leans just a bit blue. There are a ton of a certain type of people that still wear masks out and about. I see them all over at the grocery store. I think it became habit, and they just can't break it. Safety blanket and all that. Dindu tribe, for the record.
My city is extremely blue, by American standards, but by European standards it is fairly moderate. For the past 1.5 years, I've seen maybe 3 people with a mask, all of them East Asians.
I think this is because masks here did not become a left-right issue. So there's no one going "FUCK YOU IN THIS HOUSE WE BELIEVE IN WEARING A FUCKING MASK GQP INSURRECTIONISTS".
We also knew that Fauci was an open liar who would deliberately sabotage threats to his power no matter how many people it killed. And that happened in our lifetimes, barely 3-4 decades ago.
