For context what the 14th amendment says: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
Notice “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” it’s quite clear that someone here that is not subject to the jurisdiction (illegals) does not qualify under the amendment.
Also my favorite thing whenever somebody brings up the 14th: nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law
In other words if a cop shows up for a red flag gun seizure they are committing sedition

I can't think of another country that makes the children of illegal aliens citizens, if for no other reason than it encourages illegal immigration.

When Foreign diplomats give birth to children in the US those children do not have birthright citizenship. A president could sign an executive order granting diplomatic immunity to all children born on US soil to foreign nationals, then they wouldn't be citizens.

Legally the article is wrong. There has never been a case that challenges the legal jurisdiction of clause which is entirely clear of its purpose. This has been intentional for decades in order to keep flooding in migrants under “anchorship citizenship”

The pro-immigrant stuff in the US is because the US was a huge and largely unpopulated country and they needed more people to come over to fill it up.
Look at the size of the 13 original colonies vs the entirety of the US.
The issue is, that went on for decades...centuries? And of course eventually the US does fill up.
