One of the biggest mistakes the church ever made was forbidding priests from marriage and families. Ended up with a bunch of homosexuals and deviants in their ranks, and now those same priests are pushing leftism on every front.
Everyone loves to dunk on the Catholic Church for hosting and protecting pedos, but how many of those pedos molested girls? In truth, the church has a homosexual problem. Molesting children is just a byproduct.
I'd agree on that from my more Machiavellian perspective, if you can raise kids from birth to be indoctrinated into your faith, why would you forsake that AND open up another avenue in which your most devout members can be corrupted.
Hell even Star Wars showcased this with Anakin, and how every time the possessed bitch attacks the priest their first choice is to try to fuck. Making them able to marry and have kids removes that temptation, grows your numbers and you can focus on promoting family values even more through example.

Everyone in current times is so obsessed with sex they can't imagine a world where sex isn't the most important thing ever.

Sex being necessary is not the same thing as "sex is the most important thing ever". What a stupid comment. You sound like a land whale trying to justify being a glutton because "food is necessary to stay alive".
Alternatively: “it is better to marry than to burn.”
