I doubt you can blame it on laziness. It must be a matter of opportunity. It's mostly wealthy people who can get into certain sports instead of focusing on making money to subsist, like golf, formula 1 and such. Maybe it's also true for soccer in England. It's the prince who goes and has an adventure: everyone else is farming for survival.
At least in the men’s game, getting your kid into a club’s youth academy is dirt cheap, because the clubs subsidize it. Idk about the women’s game though, but I imagine they don’t subsidize that, so it’s predominantly wealthier families that can have their daughters play soccer, hence why England’s women team is predominantly white.
Also for the men’s team, the reason why a lot of the team is black is because the vast majority of black people in England are of Jamaican descent.
White people work harder at everything.
