Their side Dindu Nuffin, so the law is just out to get them and is meaningless tools of oppression. But suddenly we have to respect the institutions and the "impartiality" of the law when its benefiting them.
They'd also be able to make an incredible good case by showing how much improvement the Blacks had as a group under Trump compared to anyone else. Since, if his supporters are as racist as they say, they would lose their shit over his dedication to that. But that would undermine their narrative so they can't mention it.

Blacks are a solid 90% voting base for Democrats. Ninety fucking percent. If White people voted like blacks, the Democrat party as it is wouldn't exist.
The only time in recent years that's shifted in any shape or form was when Trump was on the ballot - and that was something like a 2% shift.
It's nowhere near the only reason why they froth at the mouth regarding Trump, but it wouldn't surprise me if some Democrat think-tanks saw those numbers and quietly shit themselves.
Not only that, but he had actual genuine black supporters in various sectors. Guys who, despite all they tried, couldn't just be dismissed as Uncle Toms. Guys who was making people think ever so slightly.
That 2% was likely a huge stepping stone, and its likely if he had his second term it would have laid foundation for at least a sizable chunk in the future to be off the plantation.
