Whites still make up a majority of the country. Also these are the same people who want lgbt representation at ridiculous levels. Eddie Murphy, Cosby Show, Richard Pryor, Fresh Prince, etc we’re quite popular with whites.
Also with comic books there are characters that clearly were straight that were made gay. Now if they wanted to be realistic do a show about a woman in college who is lesbian and then graduates, married a man, and has kids.
It turns out that an early 1990s representation of "you can have a multiethnic monoculture but not a multiculture" doesn't sell well with lefty audiences who are interested in destruction of a functional society.
Up until St Floyd a normal White person could like black entertainers, media, and culture because they weren't proudly and openly anti-White. Sure there was liberal messaging but it wasn't the whole product.
Jeffersons and Good Times and Sanford and Son reruns were my favorite shows growing up. I was still a kid and indoctrinated but even then I saw they gave it to both sides, slightly more meanspirited toward the Whites and more "encouraging" toward the blacks but the jokes were first, the lesson a VERY distant 2nd.
Now it is all CRT all the time, and a clear distinction between the "good guys" who support White extinction and the "bad" who don't.
My rule of thumb (I know I’ve mentioned this before so apologies if you’ve seen it already) is that I don’t watch anything made after 2014 unless someone I trust recommends it. Definitely true for anything with a black lead or cast. I will still watch reruns of Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, Family Matters, etc. Heck, most of what I watch is old tv shows and one of my favorite shows as I’ve gotten older is Leave it to Beaver.
I made that point in my earlier post because I’ve seen young white and black leftists stupidly say “white people wont watch something with a black lead”. I remember I pointed out to one guy that Cosby Show was one of if not the most popular shows of the 80s and that wouldn’t have been possible without a lot of white fans. He just said they weren’t really black.
Sadly I don’t blame someone who sees a modern day black show or film and passes. I’m the same way unless someone recommends it. I’m the same way with a female led show or movie. But 2014 and prior I’ll check it out
I’m saying it’s over representation. I pointed out the black celebrities that were popular because they always say that white peoples hate anything with minorities. Also the commonly used phrase “reflect the world we live in” makes no sense because the U.S is still majority white so if you want to reflect that then most characters would be white and very few would be gay. Simple reflection that is logical

It's funny how the actual % of the population matters only when they want to knock on white people.
I actually tried pointing that out in a discussion once. They didn’t care
Fresh Prince holds up a lot better than I thought it would.

I refuse to watch the reboot. I heard it’s very much for a “modern audience”
It was actually based on a fan film showing what the show would have been like if the idea was taken completely seriously, instead of as a comedy.
But then it caught the attention of the real Will Smith, who LOVED it, and now here we are.
Ugh. Plus it’s annoying that nothing can be fun anymore. Everything has to hit you over the head with a left wing view of race and class

Yes please, let's talk about representation of minorities in media.
