Yawn. We're not signatories to that treaty. To my knowledge neither are the Saudis. The Ukraine used to be though.

I can't wait to see Zelensky executed in Red Square, but this is a snoozer and I can't bring myself to care. The sole relevance this has to the situation is that it exposed how the US is probably out of conventional 155mm shells, so it means the war is drawing to a close.

It's not about the treaty. It's about the disproportionate effect that it has on civilian populations, which according to some legal scholar makes it illegal even in the absence of the specific treaty.

Now, maybe you don't care if Ukrainian (or Yemeni) children get blown up for empire, but I'd rather that they not.

That's the entire focus of the treaty, front hole. UXO of any variety is unavoidable in warfare of any decent scale, regardless of ammunition type used. The United States to no small degree did not sign onto the treaty because it was feel-good nonsense that did functionally nothing to actually address civilian casualties.

It's yet another virtue signaling pretense, acting like you give a damn while contributing nothing.

Furthermore, if the Ukrainians don't value their lives enough to not use human wave tactics, why on earth should I?

It's worse with some types of ammunition, bonus hole. When 10% of shells don't explode, that is far worse than with a smaller percentage. That is what makes the effect on civilians disproportionate to the military benefit, and which arguably makes it illegal even in the absence of a specific treaty.

The United States to no small degree did not sign onto the treaty because it was feel-good nonsense that did functionally nothing to actually address civilian casualties.

And just like that, you believe in the good will and sanity of the United States government, and that it 'cares' about civilian casualties, even though it has given you no reason at all to believe that.

Furthermore, if the Ukrainians don't value their lives enough to not use human wave tactics, why on earth should I?

So many things wrong with this, I don't even know where to begin. It's like me saying that I should send Americans to their deaths, because obviously "Americans don't value their lives enough to put an end to the fentanyl epidemic which kills hundreds of thousands".

Unless you're now suddenly a fan of the US government, it should be clear that governments of countries are not the same as their population.

Also that military deaths != killing kids and making large parts of entire countries uninhabitable like the US did to Indochina.

No it's really not worse with some types of ammunition, retard. The amount of artillery being used here guarantees a UXO situation across the front. Once UXO is determined the actual munitions are totally irrelevant. I know this for a personal fact. The only way to avoid this is avoiding the conflict in the first place.

Enormous sections of the Ukraine are already uninhabitable, will be for decades. All from completely conventional shells. Because that's how it works in real life and not on CNN.

Stop trying to pretend like you have the slightest clue about military stuff. You're an ignorant fool.

Ukrainian (or Yemeni) children get blown up for empire

You realize that Russia's main tactic right now is to saturate the ground with landmines, right? Like not unintentional dud UXO, just straight up land mines, millions of them, all over the country. It will probably take 50 years or more to de-mine the country.

On top of that, Russia has fired 10's of millions of artillery shells into Ukraine. When there's a dud (and there's a lot of duds because they're using 70+ year old shells in some cases), then the shell buries itself several feet into the ground. Someone building a house 200 years from now will probably get blown up by one of these shells.

But if that's not enough for you, if cluster bombs are some how the ultimate evil because they sprinkle UXO on the ground, then here's a video of Russia dropping cluster munitions onto some random apartment building in Kharkiv in 2022. You didn't give a shit then because your propaganda sources didn't tell you about it.

This is very funny, because this sort of thing is what the Westoid regime shills call "whataboutism". We're talking about bad things I want to talk about, you're not allowed to bring up stuff that I don't want to confront!

just straight up land mines, millions of them, all over the country. It will probably take 50 years or more to de-mine the country.

So they might as well use cluster munitions, is what you're saying?

Oh, I saw the Russian flag there on the shell there.

You didn't give a shit then because your propaganda sources didn't tell you about it.

How ironic since you're echoing Biden regime and CNN talking points.

"whataboutism"

No it isn't. Whataboutism would be bringing up some other bad thing that Russia did (there are plenty). But your argument is "there will be landmines from clusterbombs", when there are literally already landmines everywhere. That's not whataboutism. That's just destroying your central point.

So they might as well use cluster munitions, is what you're saying?

Yes. You have to demine the entire front line already. Dropping a cluster munition changes nothing. The UXO argument is moot point. You have no argument left.

Oh, I saw the Russian flag there on the shell there.

??? Are you just trolling? Are you actually a chat bot?
