This isn't JUST leftists trying to inject their politics and ideology under the guise of translations its another problem with a lot of western translation teams: they don't understand nuance.

The fact that the joke is Ryusui doesn't care about any of the details, Francois is just Francois to him is lost when it's translated into a western culture DOMINATED by identification, tags and which groups you belong to. The west has lost the ability to be nuanced.

I would argue it is not the West as a whole who has lost it. It is the ones who control this culture (or claim to) in a very specific area who have lost that, largely willingly in the name of political goals and a smug belief that they are somehow "enlightened" compared to those rubes outside.

It is the same reason that whenever they change things to "Reflect the world as it is today", it actually looks more like downtown LA than the actual world.

Very true but the problem is that when those outside the West try to look at what we showcase as their culture, they are greeted with these parasites.

It's why that one Japanese game studio had cute vtubers promote their game in Japan and Asia and in the West they got some demonic looking drag queens.

The character, Francois, is voiced in the dub by Michelle Rojas, who also claims to be non-binary.

I only learned Francois was female because Danbooru listed her under the "1girl" tag. Except on one pic, which uses "1other" for some reason--who knows if they'll change the others.

the joke is that Ryusui is so self-centered that he never bothered asking anything about his servant. Gender, birthdate, nationality, full name, etc. are "unknown."

That definitely works a little better, but I like to KNOW, damn it.

I said the same thing about the androgynous Chevalier d'Eon in Fate/Grand Order, back when I played that.

The only exceptions I've ever made are Crona from Soul Eater, and Hansel and Gretel from Black Lagoon, due to the physical and mental traumas involved in all three. Those poor...um, people.

D'Eon was a man.

I'm sure. But that's not what the game did.

Subs > Dubs.

Fansubs > Cancersubs.

There are very few fansubs left, the new animes on streaming sites get pirated almost instantaneously and the subs are good enough that nobody wanted to bother to resub

Well yeah, it's good enough for casuals that only care about getting the newest episode ASAP, fansubbers wouldn't even bother until much later maybe when the blu-ray comes out, by then they won't get much attention and traffics for their efforts

I always make sure when I get my anime that it’s both English and Japanese dubs with English subs. The problem is that where I get my anime it doesn’t mention if the subs are pulled from Crunchyroll or if they’re fan subs. Because I much prefer fan subs to avoid stupid situations like this.

I totally feel you on this one. I will probably catch up on the anime eventually, but after I watched season 1 I binged the manga and ended up stopping shortly into season 3's content for exactly those reasons. The entire feel that it had cultivated up to that point felt like it was just gone.

I'm with you on this. It felt like a top down change. It's too bad, because I got so invested in the first 120 chapters or so.

Yeah idk, there's a lot more material, so maybe it's just a short funk before it gets back to what made it good? Can't say I'm very optimistic of that though.

I take it that this only shows new or live programs from that day? It's a little odd seeing all these timeslots mixed together.

Original programming, yes. No reruns...allegedly--why are two episodes of Mom on there? That show ended over a year ago.

The site I got this from is showbuzzdaily.com--I find there's no better place to keep up with TV viewership numbers.

I might guess that it's the first time the respective episodes were decreased to those runtimes (neither run a full 30). I would assume that the 10pm Ancient Aliens listed was also a rerun.
