I have, more than once, read off the "25 points from this new German Worker's Party", and lefties clap like seals. Then I tell them to look up the National Socialist German Worker's Party... and their faces. Those few moments where the cognitive dissonance hasn't kicked in yet... chef's kiss
It's also funny posting those points to staunch National Socialist supporters who somehow think NatSocs weren't socialists in their economic policies but were pro-capitalism and free market. I've heard some damage control that those points weren't real and were actually made up (propaganda). Or that once Hitler was in power he decided against prompting any of those points like a lot of politicians do (lie to get into power).
Many NSDAP fans will say that yes it was obviously Socialist but that's a Good Thing, and it's still a right-wing party because of nationalism and racial solidarity. (the leftist frame)
The classic "socialism works as long as it's just white people" argument.
There's some truth to it but it's basically just putting lipstick on a pig.
Most right wingers including Trumpets are pretty socialist. More so now than before. Many of them firmly believe in high taxes and labor laws which was previously not popular among a Republicans. Couple that with the great firewall internet concepts that are all the rage, I'd say they are closing in km NatSoc ideas.
