The very first scene features three black women driving to NASA for work. They're pulled over by a caricature of the southern good ol' boy cop who proceeds to demean and harass them.

Yep. In-group is your worse enemy. Women are their own worse enemy. Blacks are their own worse enemy. They try to sabotage each other and keep each other down. Its very weird.
Yup, see things like "coconut" or "bounty", which is a coconut based chocolate bar, both used as pejoratives to describe someone as "brown on the outside but white inside". Anyone who "steps off the plantation" is attacked by their peers.
