The new guidance, first proposed in January and finalized Thursday, will not restrict donations based on someone's sexual orientation or gender identity, and instead move towards an "individual risk-based" approach to reduce the risk of accidental HIV infection through the blood donation system.
The FDA originally banned donations from gay and bisexual men in the midst of the 1980s HIV/AIDS crisis. In recent years, the FDA relaxed these rules, but had not lifted them completely.
Because HIV/ AIDS has become less prevalent in the gay community since the 80s right?!….. right?
And yet, I am still banned from donating blood because I lived in Germany (while in the Army) way back around 1987 to 1989 (that mad cow disease thing)
One of these days, there may come a time they are in desperate need of blood donations, and the only people left with healthy blood will refuse to do so without adequate compensation. And they'll be absolutely justified in having such a stance, after the terror of 2022.
You can bank your own blood before a surgery, but the health care facility isn't actually required to use it (except in California and another state that I can't recall at the moment). Long term storage is a no-go, since refrigerated blood is only good for about a month.
And, honestly, the only thing stopping me from being an organ donor is the idea that my organs would wind up in some dipshit leftist and prolong their worthless life.
The thing stopping me from being an organ donor is that when hospitals see that icon they are incentivized to let you die so they can take your organs. I took the organ donor thing off my drivers license years ago. Get in a car accident and survive? Oops this piece of paper says you're a vegetable, time for your state mandated vivisection!

now it's 'just' monkeypox that the news is freaking out about.
It's said how aids is just accepted as part of being gay
The ass fuckers are literal walking nurglites with a time bomb and you want to spread their infected blood to innocents? What in the actual fuck?
The FDA and federal government are also cultists, not just the obvious mutants.

Hopefully they just take their blood and pour it down the drain. No sense risking the general population for such a tiny percentage of donors.

Clearly you've never seen mad max: fury road for alternative donation scenarios.
We need private member's only blood and organ banks.
Government: "Now listen here, you little shit."
Meanwhile the leftists cry about capitalism, while we're in a massively regulated system and have central banks and fiat currency.
Unironically yes.

And I can't donate because I had beef in England
I see a lot of lawsuits in their future.
THOSE
RESTRICTIONS
WERE
PUT
IN
PLACE
FOR
A
GOOD
REASON
Now you can get graphene AND HIV in your blood transfusion!
I see nothing wrong with this so long as they are willing to individually test for HIV for every single participant.
