In the books there's a group of maurading bandits that Ciri joins for a while called The Rats, so I assume that's what this show is about.
And one of members tries to rape Ciri, only to be stopped by one of the female members. Who then rapes Ciri instead.

Yeah, that was the weirdest section in the book for me. Especially since Ciri is 15 or so at the time. I feel like that was the author letting his perv show a bit.
I notice this in some male authors, they would dote on their main waifus and she would always be in a dangerous squirmy situations where she gets hurt all the while being sexy. There will also be scenes where she almost gets raped by men or bedded by one and some awful shit will befall on said male at the nick of time (because no man can touch his waifu) so in the end the waifu usually gets into hot steamy lesbian sex with another of his written waifus. The more brazen type would pair up his waifu with an obvious self-insert while the more meekish type will cuck himself out of his own fantasy. Its not as obvious but after reading a lot i notice a pattern.
You pretty much described half the situations that involve Ciri in the Witcher books, including the author cucking his self-insert.
Definitely the case, particularly in the amateur sphere by younger men. The young female writers often shun romance entirely, like they are afraid of it.
