When the dumbest people alive scream “I love science” but don’t understand that under the theory of relativity shows that your property is the acclimation of your life’s work. There is no difference between someone stabbing you or stealing from you, they both have direct costs to your life and that variance is what we use to determine when lethal force as a preventative is necessary.
It essentially boils down to "but, I did have breakfast!"
The other issue is that you can't know their intentions. If you knew they'd only steal your TV remote, obviously you wouldn't go to the trouble of fighting back. But for all anyone knows, they plan to tie you up and do unspeakable things to you and your family.
