I had noticed a while ago that he hadn't been posting so I decided to check on u/ThatsAlright to see if he was active on any other boards, and it says This user has deleted their account.
Despite disagreeing with his takes on many philosophical and economics topics, I did enjoy his posts. I hope he didn't finally become a good communist.
Does that mean I'm no longer breaking the rule against defaming other users if I call him out as a CCP plant?

This happens all the time sadly. If you've ever gone through old threads the comments are a butchered mess because deleting an account here automatically deletes all its posts and comments.
I used to have one called Nuke Reddit History, but it in turn got nuked by others.

He was pretty distinctive, and I haven't noticed anyone taking the same positions he did, or arguing in quite the same way.
Depends on how someone operates at times. Some people use one account forever unless they forget login info while others periodically burn an account after a while for reasons of OPSEC or whatever.
Yeah, but I haven't seen any accounts that make me think they could be him, either. If he did make a new account, he changed his positions and style as well.

Oh shit I was just thinking about how I hadn't seen him around lately. That's unfortunate. I hope he just made another account or something. His takes made me raise an eyebrow at times but he brought a unique perspective and really added to the activity of the board.
