I saw it described as "Logan for kids" and the more I think about it, the more I think that's a great description. Not much in the way of wokeness from what I remember. My kids enjoyed it, as did my wife and I. Any "girl boss" stuff is kept to a minimum and, honestly, is kind of portrayed as negative. I'd recommend it.
Well there's "swearing", but it's bleeped out for comedic effect, and it got an honest chuckle from me when I watched it. There are a few scenes that are rather intense for a kids movie, but nothing super edgy or really out of place.
I would recommend it. It had some very blatant "woman good, man bad" commentary/ background things in it (Puss falls down, Kitty lands on her feet) and regarding the relationship between Puss and Kitty Softpaws (Puss abandoned his wedding, but so did Kitty). It is entertaining enough past that, however, that I am willing to overlook it. I really liked Jack Horner, the main villain. I wanted more of him!
The thing I disliked the most, actually, was an animation choice of cutting frames during action scenes. I noticed it a lot in the 'Into the Spiderverse' movie, and suspect it's a current-industry fad to try to save on processing power or something. As an avid gamer for many years, I can only associate dropped frames with bad hardware performance, so it stuck out to me a lot.
A big part of the story is that Puss is deeply flawed ... and it turns out that Kitty is just as bad.
Puss is self centered and egotistical ... but mostly because he is really that good and is compensating for a need for external validation.
Kitty is a strong independent woman who absolutely, totally doesn't need Puss, not even a little bit ... but she does, and she can't admit it because she has been deeply hurt in the past and has major trust issues.

This is the one thing preventing me from seeking this movie out. I've heard it's really good, the clips I've seen are really good, but the corner-cutting would annoy the hell out of me.

I really ought to use this brand recognition for something.
You could franchise, license out Impossible2, Impossible3, etc.
I'd consider buying a t-shirt or a Yeti mug if the design is good and the price is reasonable.

It's got some current day vibes, but it's not overly intrusive. It's a solid animated movie. Above average.
I feel like it's "current day" in terms of style and maybe a bit of the humor, but not really in terms of themes or messaging.
Super Mario Bros is more girl boss if I had to compare the two. Puss in boots is a good movie.
I get free peacock for having xfinity/ comcast. Two and a half men is probably the best thing on there.
