Weird headline. "Admits risk to the future of humanity"? He's been harping on topic this for a decade. Frankly I always found it a little paranoid, but recently started imagining scenarios where robots and AI oracles could become dangerous. Like TerpenoidTester said it's not the machines but the people controlling or misusing them that are the problem.

The AI isn't the problem, it is the people controlling / harnessing / misinforming them that is the problem.

Leave AI to people who scored in the 99th percentile of all standardized testing. That should be literally the only requirement to work with AI, weed out the people there for the wrong reasons.

There are a lot of maliciously evil or banally evil smart people. I'm more worried about any government rules or regulations surrounding AI, because those will be put in place by incredibly stupid and evil politicians.

the ai cat is already out of the bag. the only way to lessen the negative effects is to make it available to everyone.

any "regulations" are just going to keep this stuff in the hands of the powers that shouldn't be, we know that.

No one is going to listen to his dumb ass.

He's just mad because his own company is way behind with AI.

Funny how the people that spent the last few years developing their shit unregulated and unchecked are calling for regulations right now.

It'd probably unfair to assume that they are acting in their own interest first and foremost and in humanities interest dead last.
