In a tweet, Newsom criticized the decision, writing, "California won't be doing business with Walgreens or any company that cowers to the extremists and puts women's lives at risk. We're done."

It's a lose-lose situation for Walgreens now. Even if they comply with California's bullying, they're now 'cowering to extremists,' and so Newsom wants nothing to do with them.

Well, I suppose not a lose-lose...they won't have to be in California anymore, I suppose.

The state not doing business with Walgreens means nothing. Walgreens does private business with Americans, not with the state of California. Cali will try to do with it always does and persecute Walgreens, but Walgreens will probably take them to court and win. The only losers here are Californian taxpayers who will foot the bill when the court awards damages to Walgreens for lost business.

I fucking hate governments. Even if Walgreens didn't win, CA is still using taxpayer money to defend themselves.

This and other shit like it is why I think government officials should be personally liable for illegal acts or abuses done through their official duties. How this isn't a thing already is fucking beyond me.

It's especially insulting when the government uses taxpayer funds to defend itself...from the taxpayers they wronged! Fuck everything about that nonsense.

From where California's policies are, it's nearly impossible to stay in business as a retail outlet in most parts of the state anyway.

So does Walgreens no longer have to pay CA taxes?…. Sounds like a win for Walgreens.

I believe Walgreens was done with your thieving cesspool first.

Given all the state sanctioned looting and store closings it kind of looks like Walgreens is done with California. Governor HairDo is left looking like a sad simp. Again.

Newsom is trying to bully an international company into trying to break interstate commerce laws essentially

It’s probably virtue signaling as even Walmart has begun moving out of major city areas because the cost to operate in those areas far exceeds any income

The difference is that Disney had an overwhelmingly disgusting deal to begin with that wasnt transferred across state lines. Imagine Desantis trying to force Newsom to make Disneyland it’s own county.

Who cares what the left says? They're a bunch of demon worshipping pedophiles. If they don't disapprove you're probably doing something wrong.

It means California is in violation of the interstate commerce law for about the five thousandth time. They're basically trying to force a company to violate other states' laws.

Proudly so:

"California must do everything it can to protect the fundamental rights of all women -- in California and beyond," Newsom said at the time.

Hail Imperator Newsom of the Californian Empire?
