They kept it in theaters for an eternity so it would technically gross 100 million though.

According to Box Office Mojo It's the highest grossing movie in the US the past weekend. Pretty much nothing worth watching comes out in January so it was a no-brainer to leave it in theaters all month. It's made over 2 billion worldwide now, which James Cameron said was the break even point. I imagine it will run its course by the end of February.

I read L'Engle when I was a kid and remembered liking her.
I just read through Wrinkle in Time, Wind in the Door, and Swiftly Tilting Planet again ...
L'Engle is kind of a hack herself. They aren't necessarily bad books, but her whole schtick is "don't know really what's happening, don't have any clear goal of what needs to be accomplished or how to accomplish it, the main characters never really do anything on their own because secondary characters just constantly appear to tell them what to do right when they need to do it ... but at the end everything is somehow ok."
Well at least Wrinkle in time was her story. Duvernay can’t do anything without some race narrative. I didn’t know there were more books in the series. I do appreciate the Christian symbolism but nobody does that better than Lewis

As for the custom of theater reviews only doing reviews for shows they received an invitation to review: sounds stupid to me, and smacks of using what is supposedly an unbiased review system for stealth advertising. If I had a play that I was putting on, I would only invite people to review it that I was fairly certain would give it positive reviews.

This entire thing is cringe overload. The reviewer is a racist hump, the editors of the newspaper are racist humps and the thespians are racist humps.
