It requires government action but as a scalpel than a hammer as just banning long hours will probably make it worse forcing people to work for different companies to make the hours or greater work demands in shorter hours.
Thank god for the elderly in Japan basically telling the left to get fucked to hold onto their traditional values.
The main thing I complain about Japan anyway is their work/life balance as see too much burnout but that's mostly it.

As an ex-leftist, I know from personal experience how hard it is to change something you've believed for so many years.
I imagine a real solution would have to be gradual and take a long time, something like 20 years.
