Japanese consumer goods from the late 70s to the early 90’s were unbelievable quality. I was rebuilding an old Teac cassette deck recently and it may as well have been a mil-spec laboratory quantisation apparatus.

I have a 1980's Sony Trinitron that I use for my old consoles. ...And like those old consoles - also made in Japan - it's basically still good as new.

Thing is near 40 years old still going strong. Still has the old "It's a Sony" sticker on the side of it.

He did set them on the right path, but unfortunately they have stalled due to birthrates.

Not as bad as China but still pretty bad.

There is when it starts to have the affect of villages getting abandoned because all the young move to cities for work.

In that sense they need to restructure a bit to ensure that they aren't putting too many eggs in one basket and if there are ways to ensure there isn't a complete abandonment of rural areas

Populations will have to grow continuously as long as the life expectancy keeps growing.
