Russia's goal to inflict hardship on the EU by withholding gas would have failed regardless because the EU stockpiled in August/Sept and there was no realistic scenario in which the stockpiles would have run out.
However, THANKS TO GLOBAL WARMING, GOTTEM, the EU had a particularly mild winter, so the demand placed on stockpiles was much lower than expected.
Environmentalists take advantage of every news story on this topic to say "we need to eliminate fossil fuels" even though this whole incident proved that stockpiling is an easy and effective strategy that is much cheaper and easier than trying to radically change the EU's energy infrastructure.
I said that "thanks to global warming Putin is losing his pressure on Europe" around a couple of my leftist friends, it was such an enjoyable silence. They did not know how to process that.
The global warming fags won't even be consistent. A colder, longer winter and a hotter longer summer is what global climate change leads to. Where it's feet of snow and ice even in Florida and desert in summer time.
There's still nearly 2 months of winter left.
Not sure what Putin expected tbh. It's clear western leaders don't care about their people. And it's clear the people don't care.
Europe has to be consistently lucky across the whole of winter. Winter only needs to get lucky once. And in terms of the UK and Ireland, their luck ran out this week.
Meanwhile, some weird weather caused it to snow twice now in Central Florida.
It's not so weird. It happened every 5-12 years in the past. It would ruin orange groves and then they would replant. This stopped as Florida grew into a retirement destination and it was cheaper to just build houses on that flattened land. My old home in Winter Haven was known for this shit even in the 1880s.
That's very good to know. Seattle gets a bunch of snow every 2-3 years for a few weeks.
So climate change defeated the Russians? Awkward.

It's more than 5? I must have miscounted. I apologize.
Thank God for Global Waming. /s
Joke aside, for decades to come, the reduction in hypothermia mortality will keep overcompensation increased mortality from hyperthermia.
As with Covid-19, assume the "experts" are exagerating the "catastrophoc effects" by a factor 10 and that their proposed "solutions" will worsen the damage and strip you from liberties.
Are they good troops though? Can they compete against a non-stop supply of American weapons?
Nice proxy war basically.
As soon as we have robots fighting entirely, then what will we call war?
It is several movies and random sci fi episodes.
If this is going into the long haul, I don't know how Russia expects to win against an infinite money cheat by the US and it's puppets. It's like Reagan outspending the Soviets again. They can't win unless our economy completely collapses.
The way I see it is: Russia (and China) have economies that are based on commodities and manufacturing whereas most of the west has hollowed out their economies by “offshoring” manufacturing and bloating the professional managerial classes. Western economies are bullshit smoke and mirror fantasies based on stupid financial instruments and full of absolute bullshit jobs. Because of this, the Russians have more capacity to manufacture weapons than NATO countries do, and they’re not going to lack anything else because of their close relationship with China. The Russians seem to never run out of artillery shells whereas there have been shortages already on the Ukrainian side. America has already sent more than the annual military budget of Russia in less than a year to Ukraine in military aid, and NATO is basically depleting their inventories to send their armouries over to them and they seem to just be getting blown up steadily. The Russians are killing far far more than they’re losing, and the Ukrainian/NATO leadership seems to just be using soldiers as literal cannon fodder. Basically, I’ve started to suspect that we in the west might be a paper tiger, and not even our leaders realize it (although Russia and China are clueing in it seems). Everybody cites the fact that Russia’s GDP is smaller than many individual U.S. states, but if the majority of the GDP is generated by bullshit like selling ads on websites and re-selling subprime mortgages maybe the real meaningful disparity is smaller than anyone assumes. I’ve been accused of “parroting Russian propaganda” before but I just watch The Duran, Brian Berletic, Glenn Diesen, Jimmy Dore, the Greyzone, Redacted, Gonzalo Lira, Jackson Hinkle, Scott Ritter, Douglas MacArthur and stuff like that where I hear stuff like this. None of that stuff seems like propaganda, but the stuff you see in the mainstream media DOES. Ghost of Kiev was reported in western media. The idea that Russia is subtly seeding alternative media with propaganda through relatively small YouTubers seems silly when the WaPo is crowing about the Ghost of Kiev lol.
Sadly that is an option for us.
