Adult survivors who do not wish to speak to police about their experience or go through the legal process are able to make a report without a formal investigation commencing.
The process can be anonymous, or a police follow-up can be requested.

Suppose information delivered anonymously helps capture an actual rapist. That would prevent anyone innocent from being convicted for the crime.
Denial of due process mostly takes places in college kangaroo courts. I think the men falsely accused have won nearly every proper court case.
