A federal judge indicated Wednesday that then-President Donald Trump's remarks on Jan. 6, 2021, telling a crowd to "fight like hell" before the Capitol attack could have signaled to his supporters that he wanted them "to do something more" than just protest.
Never mind the repeated calls for peace. This is “very fine people” but in a courtroom now. Our country has become a joke upon itself.
"These words only encourage those at the rally to march to the Capitol — nothing more — and do not address legality at all. But, although his express words only mention walking down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol, one might conclude that the context implies that he was urging protestors to do something more — perhaps to enter the Capitol building and stop the certification," Bates wrote.
aha. got it. It's not the words he actually used that are evidence of his crimes, it's the things he specifically didn't say that are the actual evidence.
It's insulting that they're not making a better attempt here. Why not just fabricate something better than this mealy-mouthed trash? It's not like the media (or the Biden administration) is above that...

One might conclude that, but one would be reaching and your decision, judgie-wudgie, is not to be based on inference but on explicit facts.
Ah, also, a point to note. The judge in question is a district court judge for the district of colombia - it would be difficult to find a place where the swamp is deeper.
Yes, because everybody knows "peacefully and patriotically" actually means "burn down all of the courthouses and \ or invade secure areas of the Capitol"
To be fair, CNN and their ilk would call those actions "peaceful and patriotic protest" if their darling little terrorist minions performed them, as we've seen in countless prior cases, "Fiery and mostly peaceful" etc etc, so them having confusion that "peacefully" means "violently" in their warped minds makes a certain degree of sense.
Saw this one the news this morning, stopped reading at "fight like hell" was all they got.
Funding and bailing out antifa rioters? That's okay. But using words that can be maliciously misinterpreted by the opposition via extreme obtuse literality? That's a jailing.

This is like a drug to them
I'm always reminded Rekieta's intro, which was taken from clips from Trump's impeachment trial.

"One might conclude"
"Context implies"
"Perhaps"

“Sources familiar with his thinking.”
They already impeached him twice over what they claimed he was thinking. This is just them saying "third time's the charm!"

he should have just come out and said "heads on pikes, don't stop until it's done"
