It sickens me how the 4th of July and Thanksgiving has turned into a hate America celebration. I agree it sucks if your people were conquered and your land taken due to you being conquered but that was the way of the world for most of history. Happened in every continent. Why the western countries still apologize for it is beyond me.
To be fair, it has turned into that only for a single group of politically charged people. In my neck of the woods, everything still is the way it has always been. The last Thursday in Nov, and the 4th of July, everything shuts down, flags adorn every pole, and everyone gets together and celebrates their families and their nation. And if any bitching and moaning occurs, its directed at people like those in the OP picture.
Same here. In my local area people are proud to fly the flag and enjoy thanksgiving. I guess I meant in the media. I remember when the news media would do some sort of heartwarming story on thanksgiving or I can remember a time before there were endless articles calling for these holidays to be “re-examined”. But you are right. At least in my community it is sane.
It goes back some ways.
There's 20-year-old episodes of The Sopranos with Tony getting riled up because people in New Jersey are disrespecting Columbus Day.
I remember that episode. That was around the time I remember people making a stink about Columbus Day.
We just have to start euthanizing leftists for their own good.
