My guess is there's a "security division" with no clear separation between the people who fix computer security bugs and those who eat bugs and ensure the left's emotional security.
So they're all locked out and can't fix new zero-days that get reported, thus the increased risk.
Of course in reality if a zero-day gets reported Elon just says "who wants their job and can fix this" and then they get job security and the problem gets fixed.
So far, he's done everything right.
Step # 1 was seize the computers so we can audit what they've actually damaged and broken on purpose.
