UPDATE: @UChicago has just CANCELLED “The Problem of Whiteness” class.Thank you to everyone who shared my thread. We are obviously fighting an uphill battle, but this is a huge victory. Students need to call out anti-white hatred whenever they see it. Just...
The problem with whiteness is that there isn't enough of it.
Blame the snowbunnies.
They'll probably just make it mandatory. Also, there is anti-white stuff in tons of innocuously name classes like world history. While it's great that the class was cancelled, the institutions responsible need to be dismantled, or they will keep trying.
English is the biggest vector of this stuff in general classes. Probably 13 years ago, I remember a friend telling us how the book the professor was currently having them read for some English class was too much, with explicit descriptions of gay sex. He even had a gay friend in the class that agreed with him that it was too much.
Professor needs to be fired and prevented from ever teaching again.
Utterly meaningless unless someone faces serious professional consequences
Is nice to see some pushback against this crap. I also have to point out that the one that was suppose to do the the class is a white woman, Rebecca Journey “cultural anthropologist”.
Oh my god. How will she pay for her useless gender studies degree student loans now?
Don't worry, the American taxpayers will pay off her loans.
It's because nobody wanted to do it.
Was there an information on this? I thought the class was suppose to be done by Rebecca Journey, it was announced at one point.
Someone live tweeted the enrolment figure. It was always zero.
That is a great thing, the students actually not playing with racist propaganda is way better then the university caving
It depends.
The students not wanting it is good, but the university can offer it again next year and maybe get people.
If the university is pressured to pull it, then they can't bring it back again.
I'm hoping that is a sign that society is changing for the good despite the universities and the media and all of that.
It's excellent If the class was taken off the schedule for under-enrollment; It demonstrates that at least at the U of C nobody wants to hear the usual horseshit.
Latin went from a core course in most American universities to extinct for the same reason, under-enrollment, so maybe it will happen with Critical Studies.
But that took decades and we don't have that much time. The pipeline must be destroyed.
