Imagine having a “career” that is kept alive because your uncle is one of the most corrupt senators in US history. This chick has been painfully unfunny for decades now, probably why she’s hosting SNL.
This is the problem with “activist comedy”. Or women who aren’t funny getting overhyped like that manly looking woman who got rave reviews fi her unfunny Netflix special. There are funny women but they generally won’t get any backing unless they push some agenda
I am a big fan of stand up comedy -- I especially love going to little clubs where I can find them and trying to find some good up and commers.
I always root for the women, but far too often its the old "I am so slutty" or "here's my vagina" -- its disappointing and unfunny.
There have been a few gems over the years though... no one famous, unfortunately

Absolutely there are good ones. I’ve seen some locally. Also, if you listen to Friday night tights Christie Maier is very funny. Just a shame that the ones who get crritcal acclaim are the ones that you described.
