Bleach fans are finally getting an adaptation of the last arc of the Bleach manga: The Thousand Year Blood War Arc.
They are splitting it into 4 cours with 13 episodes in each cours.
The animation was great for the first episode. They brought back the banger ost and the original cast is doing the voices again.
I am personally just really happy to see something made in 2022 actually turn out to be good!
I remember liking the 1st season of the original with the whole secret world monster of the week premise, but the part where they go to the soul society got really dull for me. After they stopped Rukia's execution, I dropped the show. Does it get better later?
If the Soul Society arc turned you off then I probably wouldn't bother picking it back up.
Imo there are some really good parts in the arcs after the Soul Society arc.
From what I have heard from people, many consider the first arc of Bleach as just good and consider the soul society arc as the peak of the show.
I personally liked both arcs; I liked the first arc of Bleach because it was very similar to Yu Yu Hakusho which is in my top 5 anime of all time and I liked the Soul Society arc because it had some good characterization and great fights.
It could be quite hit and miss, one the one hand the Fake Karakura Town arc meant a lot of different characters got to show off their abilities in combat like Hisagi revealing his Shikai, however on the other hand at times too much time was spent on the arc and how some of it resolved meant some characters were wasted.
The fact Halibel was the sole Espada to survive, bar Nel and the other one, meant characters like Starrk and Yammy were woefully underused. Starrk gets taken out in the Fake Town Arc by a gimmick relating to Shunsui's Shikai and Yammy is taken out offscreen by Byakuya and Kenpachi. Despite being the two most powerful Espada using their full Resurreccions both get jobbed hard and it's debatable who actually comes off worse out of the two.
Yammy for getting taken out offscreen or Starrk losing to someone not even using their Bankai?
Plus the TYBW arc has a lot of characters deaths. A LOT of them. So there will be quite a few anime only fans out there who probably get mad at their favourites getting killed off considering how bloody the arc starts let alone continues.
It gets into the Dragon Ball Z power creep. Antagonist gets stronger and threatens life, everyone else finds new powers, they defeat the antagonist.
Not really. A lot of people think it jumped the shark way before the ending
JFC finally.
Why they stopped the anime after the Fullbring arc despite the manga having ended FUCKING YEARS AGO was beyond me.
Edit: Let the mindless murderfest begin!
Ending it at the fullbring arc was so painful since the last episode they animated till now was the one where Ichigo was telling Rukia that he will see her later.
It took us 10 years!
Anime ending may still cause issues as it is quite... abrupt how the arc resolves.
Always felt like the last pages were an attempt to emulate what Naruto suddenly showed with the cast grown up with kids except Naruto still went on to create the Boruto manga while Bleach just stopped AFAIK.
Maybe the anime will show some things that the manga never did, like finally showing off what Hisagi's Bankai is!
I do not count "Can't Fear Your Own World" as canon however it may end up inspiring such material if they decide to bring it forward to the TYBW arc.
Bleach was the second manga i ever read and the first that i got obsessed over lol
Thanks.
Bleach was regarded as one of the big 3 of anime.
The reason why so many Bleach fans are excited for this new anime is because Naruto and One Piece both got full anime adaptations of their manga while Bleach fans were just waiting hopelessly for years for the last manga arc.
To see it come back 10 years later and for it to be good? Just a feel good moment.
I personally liked The Devil is a Part-Timer season 2. I thought it deserved a 7.5/10.
It wasn't as amazing as the original first season but it was still decent. The new studio's artstyle wasn't as good as the original studio's artstyle.
I still enjoyed the characters and their interactions. Alas Ramus was a nice addition to the cast.
Lol I also saw "My stepmother's daughter is my ex". I thought it was going to be a complete meme of an anime and it actually surprised me when it turned out to be good.
I do agree that there definitely was potential wasted with Season 2 of The Devil is a Part-Timer. It could have been so much better if the original studio animated it.
6/10 is a fair rating if you compare season 2 heavily with season 1.
There were a bunch of surprisingly good ones last season. Call of the Night was really cool.
Yeah I loved Call of the Night. Watching that anime in the middle of the night irl is an amazing experience. Story, Visuals and music in the show are all amazing.
Thanks! I’ll have to start from the beginning
Eh, bleach is dead. I'm never even made it past the bound arc, as soon as that started I threw this trash in the garbage where it belonged. Was good up until then.
Well yeah it was a literal filler arc and not even one of the good ones.
Worth watching for someone who dropped the series after they saved Rukia?
I felt like they had no story left to tell after at point and were just throwing shit at the wall in hopes that something would stick.
