What is it they (researchers) found that 80 to 90% of all published research failed peer review and was basically just published to be published as many of the academic and high end jobs require being published to stay employed.
If all your peers are as dumb or as politically-driven as you, then peer reviewing is a pointless endeavor. We're far past the point of people caring enough about their reputation to not give their approval to shoddy but useful "research".
The same research group got Mein Kampf published as a peer-reviewed article, replacing the operative identity politics keywords.
Different group, but yeah. They even named the paper "My Struggle".
Was the trio of James Lindsay, Peter Boghossian, and Helen Pluckrose.
Lindsay and Boghossian both have Youtube channels that are worth watching. New Discourses can be pretty dense, but is extremely informative and enlightening about the literature and the mindset of the people who are currently trying to force clown world on us.
Their trick, whether intentional or incidental, is that modern society is already clown world. But threats to make it even more clownish have a way of refocusing the mind.
