They can't destroy what you love. They can only make poor facsimiles of it. They don't have any legitimacy, it's just fanfiction they paid money to make.
Don't give them the power to destroy what you love. What you love is still intact.
But watching them try so hard is pretty fucking infuriating, yeah.
Exactly and nothing they do lasts forever. See how Disney uncanoned the entire EU? Nothing stops anyone from saying "the Disney movies are not canon and we ignore it" in the future.
Fans desperately need to establish some kind of canon committee. If Star Trek or Star Wars had an actual fan committee that declared things canon or non-canon, no one would be confused about crap like Last Reywalker or Star Drek: Discovery.
