Surely you must know that, by tradition, this makes Charles now the symbolic head of the Anglican Church, no..?
Yes, I know the Archbishop of Canterbury is the actual head, but technically… That’s how Anglicanism works.
I would have thought you might have known that one, re “whatever faith Charles is”…
I was never really into the whole royalty tradition, so I don't really know much past really surface level things.
I just figured, as a British person, you might know… Given, you know, Anglicanism is the state religion of the UK… 😑
Henry VIII made himself head of the Church, when he broke from Rome.
Kind of an important historical fact, that.
But sure, I appreciate it’s not something we think about every day. I grant you that.
Random historical factoids are kid of my thing, I admit, lol…
Not sure why I happen to know this one, whether it was HS Religion or History class, or because my parents were big on Glastonbury Abbey (dissolved during that process), and all that stuff…
Or perhaps because I was “raised Anglican”, lol.
But yeah, that’s… How the Anglican/Episcopalian/Church of England works, so now ya know!
May I ask you what the difference is between Anglican, Episcopalian, and Church of England? I always considered them very similar.
