They always complain about female characters being “reduced” to love interests. When was the last time you met a reasonably attractive girl IRL who wasn’t getting attention from half a dozen guys angling to fuck her? If your story’s female protagonist isn’t a child, an old lady, or a fugly fatass, then it is completely unrealistic for her to not be drowning in male attention.
found the problem. they want the character to be a fugly fatass so they feel represented.
Even worse: They want to feel more beautiful than heroic characters. It's not enough that a 260 3/10 can get her hole drilled every now and then, it's about the 3/10 getting her hole drilled moreoften than a 7+
One of the earliest rules you learn is that if she is single, that's a red flag in and of itself.
Also acknowledging that women are constantly drowning in attention they don't even appreciate wouldn't go over well with most guys. Its one of those "everyone knows it but don't dare mention it" things, because it would turn a lot of men misogynistic and hateful quick to compare their "still obsessing over being called handsome 6 years ago" lives.
