I mean... they thought an ugly man with a giant nose and bushy black brows with bleached hair is the perfect choice to embody Desire. Like fuck off, they try to sell that ugly ass faggot as a hottie in Cowboy Bebop: The Abomination as well and the can't accept the fact nobody honestly thinks he looks okay.
cutting back on pricy, riskier endeavors in favor of lowest-common-denominator genre fare
going to have to “perform incredibly well” if it’s going to convince Netflix to sign off on another season—and even after two weeks of being the biggest show in the world, “that still may not be enough.”
it’s “a really expensive show”
Even leaving the wokeness aside, it seems like the industry is becoming increasingly screwed up. There seems to be little room for having lower budgets and making the most out of them and telling a story that can stretch multiple seasons. Not that most of the stories they want to tell these days would be worth it anyways, but still.
I caught the same thing while reading it. The streaming services used big budgets to fight, and have defeated themselves with debt. The Woke angle is a sign of their ignorance to what people want, but not the killing blow.
I had planned on reading the original comic book. Or buying the TPB. That is good right? Sucks that Gaiman bent the knee and clapped like a seal over race swapping
It's a great series with some real skill in storytelling. Near the end it was obvious Gaiman was running out of ideas, but the originals were wonderful.
Negras: The Series, you mean? A petulant looking cunt who whispers and white knights was their interpretation of Dream. White people are evil and everyone else is black. That's the entire series. Shocking no one wants to make a sequel.
That's for the best. There was never a reason to make a first season. It wasn't a story I would expect to make the transition to the screen gracefully even in good hands, much less malicious ones.

I dunno, I thought he played a good reason to hate the series. That's a good villain.

Not everything has to be an 8-10 episode movie.

Cool, thanks! I’ll definitely check it out
Seconding this. The original source material was a fantastic work of art.
Here is the best thing Neil Gaiman ever wrote, for free, hosted on his own website.
Good Omens, which he co-wrote with Sir Terry Pratchett is also good, but not as good as Pratchett's stuff on his own.
Thanks! I love Terry Pratchett’s work.

I didn't even know the first one was out! By the way, the link's just leading to a blank page on the Wayback Macine.
I'm sure... I even checked to make sure it was readable. Guess something happened.

Despite effusive media shilling, woke garbage adaptation of comic no one under 40 cares about failed?
:shocked pickachu:
Agreed.
