I wish Officer Derek had win.
What's about his other cops, meanwhile?
I guess I’m naive. I was honestly thinking Chauvin wouldn’t get anything worse than manslaughter because to prove murder would be impossible. But that was foolish of me
Jury riggers suck.
Yea. I honestly don’t get how he doesn’t appeal. I have a good friend who still thinks it was all a set up to foment riots.
It was.
I wouldn't be surprised if that option is being made as difficult and unappealing as possible for him. They would probably just lynch him if he got out anyways.
He made some plea deal with the feds to not appeal in exchange for a limited sentence on the federal charges (which I think they agreed to a concurrent sentence the same length as the state sentence.)
Even manslaughter would be a miscarriage of justice. Floyd died of severe heart disease exacerbated by the stress of trying to fight his way out of an arrest and the abuse of multiple illegal drugs known to cause cardiopulmonary failure. Had he not committed any one of his multiple crimes - the counterfeiting, the drug abuse or resisting arrest - he would still be alive.
Probably would have overdosed on fentanyl by now tbh
Agreed. I was just assuming that was the worst. I don’t believe that the drugs had nothing to do with his death. The city was scared of further rioting. I remember someone getting mad at me because when they said Ashli Babbit brought her death on herself I said then you can say the same for Floyd
It won't help. We have a full trial on video, and there are several videos of the incident. If these fools aren't bots they are NPCs, which is basically the same thing.
Personally I'd completely revamp the defamation laws so you can win damages even as a public figure, even if the defendant was misinformed by someone else. It should literally be illegal to lie about someone in a way that would damage their character - regardless of motive. The free speech protections applied to it in the past were because it was too much of a burden on average townsfolk to not gossip and tell their friends and family what they read in the newspaper, so they shouldn't be held responsible because someone gave them bad info. Today with the Internet at your fingertips, that's NOT ok. Just keep your mouth shut about people if you don't know for sure.
It still wouldn't help repair Kyle's image, but it would be satisfying watching as he knocks down bodies and becomes a billionaire thanks to twitter.
