Why, though?
Why is this the hill the left has chosen to die on..??
This predates Floyd. Arguably it goes back much further than that, but modern leftists... Seem to have made this "their lot", this last... Decade. Why? Why do we think that is??
Not books, not movies, but statues and buildings. Why the fuck is this the left's current game?
The culture wars have, as I say, come to my home city now (thanks, leftist cunts), and I do actually have a dog in this fight, as a result.
Tips on how to fight back appreciated.
Oddly, this is being done expressly against the wishes of ratepayers, only weeks before an election is due to take place, for that council. It is very, very dubious timing, to say the least.
I know these people personally (the councillors), so while they ain't gonna listen to me, you can sure as shit bet I am going to use that to my advantage, here, lol...
Who'd have thought this would come home to roost quite like this...
Statutes are symbols of culture.
All authoritarians believe in taking control of culture and destroying all cultural rivals. The Taliban demolished ancient Buddhist statutes. The Chinese Communist Party destroyed countless temples and religious/cultural monuments and buildings.
The Left wants to destroy America's past and denigrate America's history and make everyone feel bad about being an American, so they can come in with "hey, you want to feel better? take a deep sniff of this communism stuff I got right here, ALLL your troubles will go away".
Literally everything on the Left leads back to cultural marxism. It's the whole foundation of the modern left.
More than just culture, they are symbols of history. A shared history that the people of that area can connect with. If you deny somebody their history it's far easier to write in your own and have them accept it.
This is one thing that Asha Logos helped illustrate quite well to me in his Subverted History series.
This right here. Statues are physical reminders of history.
Is Asha Logos a far leftist?
No, the first video he uploaded was on the horrors of the Bolshevik Revolution.
Every great nation in the beginning of civilization would tear down the statues and religions of the previous rulers, so they could put in their own. It continued to today.
why are you using authoritarian as a catch-all bad man buzzword exactly like our enemies?
by these standards i would be equally 'authoritarian' and thus by connotation a bad person if i "took control of culture" and melted down that bronze georgie floyd of fentanyl statue. but hopefully we can both agree here that it'd be a good, healthy idea.
Because they are all authoritarians? You ever hear of anyone who wants to control what people think, how people act, and what people believe without being an authoritarian? No you haven’t because being any of those things makes them an authoritarian.
The only authority is God, not a weak, corruptible human being like you
and that lightning strike was an inanimate object with even less right to authority than me, but it still took down that mural....
