Was originally but nixed it during my first license renewal.
To be honest though I don’t think your average healthcare professional cares too awful much regardless. Like, aw shucks, we can’t harvest this guys organs, guess I’ll be a paragon of virtue and Dr House him.
I bet a lot of them will take the dissatisfied burglar response and destroy all your furniture, so to speak.
I heard that it's possible to feel pain as the organs are being removed since they don't take you off life support until that's done. So yeah, I'm not an organ donor.
US law should be changed to make your organs your property and for you or your heirs to get the full financial benefit of your organ sales.
Right now it's a racket where the hospitals chop you up and THEY make tons of profit off of selling your parts.
We have this system where we pretend it is unethical to "sell" human organs because then there would be a "market", but both the market and sales already exist, they are just kept hidden from the public so the public doesn't see any of the money.
Human organ sales should be 100% legal, and we should be able to source organs from 3rd world countries. If a 3rd worlder wants to give up a kidney for a big payday that will make his or her life better, why not? It's a win win.
DON'T DO IT - THEY WILL KILL YOU FOR YOUR ORGANS EVEN IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE OF SURVIVAL
Problem is, if they'll go that far, there's not much stopping them from trying to fake it anyway, no matter your status. Still, I've also opted to do what I can to not put myself in the 'more valuable dead than alive' category regardless.
Trust is a massive issue with the "healthcare" industry - which is more industry than healthcare
And considering said industry kills a shit ton of people every year, I try to stay as far away from them as possible. Well, that and plenty of other issues. As you say, they're more industry than healthcare, and don't really mesh with my own personal health goals.
wasn't medical malpractice shockingly high on the total mortality per year list for the US? and, obviously, that's just what's reported and accepted as malpractice.
They wouldn't give those who refused their "totally safe and effective*" poison necessary medical care, they were denied organs and access to services.
So fuck em, they can't have my organs then. I opted out a year ago. If it's only going to go to somebody who got the mark upon their right arm, if it's only going to those who helped support the gov's tyranical mandates, then I'm not doing the world a favour by helping keep them around.
When I'm dying, the money made with my organs should go to my close ones and not big pharma, so no.
Same reason why I do not donate blood anymore (as unvaxxed 0-, who could give to anyone) - Big Pharma here makes around 150 bucks net profit per 500ml blood while I get sliced bread as a thank you. Considering how inhuman state and society was to me because I refused that junk shot, they can go fuck themselves.
Exactly. Here in Krautland they are discussing to change the previous organ spending "opt-with-permission" clause (aka. a Organ Spending Pass which can be printed by yourself) into a universal "opt-out" clause. Fuck you, unless its one of my close ones, im taking my organs into the grave. Pig Pharma can search their source for their next "record win" up their own ass.
sounds like a lawsuit just waiting to happen when they take the organs from a Muslim/african without their consent because it's against their religion and some such, it'll go away when they offended enough new germans
Most of Europe uses that "opt-out" clause now. They did this in order to tackle "the massive waiting times for organ transfers"". While purposefully ignoring that there is big black market that provides exactly that - and these organs do not all come from some third worlds shitholes - they come from all the "respected" medical" institutions as well. Same thing with orphanages and child trafficking - its an insanely dirty business.
Especially in today's age, where more healthy people die than healthy people breed, an industry of purposefully killing people to harvest their profit bringing organs is undoubtedly there.
No shit. If it will make them more profit to let you die rather than save you, then only a complete idiot would expect them to put your life over their own profits.
You don't have to assume murderous intent to find a reason to be against organ donation, just look at their attitude towards the value of your life and your body. Wanting to give up your own flesh for the benefit of saving lives might be a virtuous and benevolent impulse, but it's safe to say the the institutions which try with all their might to coerce you into taking dangerous untested drugs, and are happy to deny you lifesaving treatment if you don't, do not share that same respect for life and certainly not for yours.
Until the last 2 years I was something of a 'muh science' guy and I idly thought that one of the cool things to do with one's body after death would be donate it entirely to a research institution, to do with what they wanted. Nowadays I realise this is the equivalent of donating it to a travelling clown show which poisons its audience and mutilates children backstage. Anyone enquiring into my organ donation status will be laughingly told to fuck off.
I think I still am but will probably opt out whenever my license needs to get renewed. I donate blood whenever I'm able so I'm saving enough lives as it is, thanks

In my state it's the pre-set, and declining organ donation has to be specifically opted out. Which I have done.
I heard that it's possible to feel pain as the organs are being removed since they don't take you off life support until that's done. So yeah, I'm not an organ donor.

Never thought of it this way. There's already a market and they have a monopoly on it.
And fuck, they're my organs. I can sell them if I want to, assholes. Guess they never cared about bodily autonomy after all.
Absolutely. Especially about where the profits go

My advanced care directive says my organs can only go to family or friends approved by my estate
I was planning to be but then they started to deny the un'vaxxed' organ transplants, so they can fuck off.
I know not every potential recipient supports that but I'd rather my organs rot away, wasted, than prop up their disgusting two-tier system.
Can totally believe that doctors would let a 50/50 chance patient die to get their organs. Some doctors are completely inhuman.
Same. I'm disappointed and disgusted. I don't donate blood, organs, time. Nothing. Support your family and friends. Not the system.

they won't give you organ transplant if you don't get the jab, but they sure as hell will take your unjabbed organs

very reasonable position

Vaccine Mandates were the last straw agreed
your organs are likely going to blacks and Mexicans in the US
I was. But I got myself off the list once they started denying organs to those who didn’t get the China virus “vaccine”
In my state it’s a simple form to fill out. They can get fucked.
+100 doots
what if your organs went to a convicted paedophile for example?
you underestimated the power of presidential pardon to rich bankers
I think I still am but will probably opt out whenever my license needs to get renewed. I donate blood whenever I'm able so I'm saving enough lives as it is, thanks
