Only the "yen" part is pronounced "wen/wan", which kinda sounds like "win". https://youtu.be/W03-9Zk33os

LOL I've never heard that one. Only "win" like quantumwannabe said. Sounds like it depends on which Vietnamese you ask.

This one is correct. It's difficult because Vietnamese is tonal, so to make it easier for English speakers, the 'Ng' and inflection is dropped and you get 'win'.

I have no words. Nguyen is my last name, and only my grandparents pronounced it correctly. I live in France, and my dad just always used the french accent pronounciation, which is wrong ! I'm deadass learning to pronounce my own name
