helping mothers afford children. For so many millions already distraught by the ruling, the ready promises of help on the way came not so much as a comfort but as an insult. The fact that American mothers and infants have access to relatively few resources compared with the women and children of our peer nations notwithstanding, better welfare policy wasn’t exactly what the majority of abortion-rights activists were demanding at the moment.
Yes, we want people to understand they have to be responsible for their actions? Welfare currently enables irresponsible behavior, not helping families that suffered loss.
Thus, though American pro-life activists have had decades and plenty of encouragement to tackle the privations—poverty, poor housing options, and limited access to child care—that seem to precipitate many abortions, their attention has instead remained obdurately trained on regulating the practice of abortion itself, through legislation codifying (inter alia) term limits, specific clinic conditions, and burial requirements for fetal remains. Anything done in service of overturning the rulings, even something as facially perplexing as devout Catholics voting for Donald Trump, was ipso facto a higher political priority for the vanguard of “life” than anything having to do with the living conditions of American mothers and infants.
Ah so we need to pay for womens babies and care because? Pleading extremes in a system overrun by bureaucracy.
A better tack: Rather than tee up an exhausting, decades-long legal battle over whether crisis pregnancy centers (the modern anti-abortion movement’s preferred delivery method for services, money, and goods for women in need) ought to receive state funds and under what conditions, agree that pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care should all be free, and demand that the federal government make it so.
Yes enable female irresponsibility more…..
To address the predictable objections: Yes, the costs of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care really do spell the difference between life and death for scores of American mothers and infants. Preventing preterm births and safeguarding babies’ health in the first few months of life would likely reduce relatively high American infant mortality rates to levels closer to those of our peer nations, many of which spend much more than we do on mothers and babies. Likewise, a 2020 report issued by the Commonwealth Fund on maternal mortality in the U.S. observed that barriers to prenatal and postpartum care—namely non-insurance and poorly crafted Medicaid policies that drop new mothers from expanded postpartum coverage only 60 days after birth—contribute a great deal to maternal death. In a country where health care can be cost-prohibitive, deaths arising from inadequate or inaccessible care might as well be tallied as deaths from poverty.
So bad government healthcare is why we need more government funded healthcare?
Young mothers enrolled as adult dependents on their parents’ private health-insurance plans may not discover that their benefits don’t extend to maternity care until their multithousand-dollar bills for routine obstetrician visits arrive. The costs associated with childbirth itself are even more harrowing. A recent study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics found that the average out-of-pocket expense for giving birth while privately insured exceeds $3,000. More than one in six privately insured births result in more than $5,000 of out-of-pocket expenses. Over the course of reporting this story, I encountered mothers across the country who shared extraordinary medical bills from having given birth: A hospital in Texas charged one couple north of $10,000 for labor and delivery, with some $3,000 paid out of pocket in the run-up to the due date, and another $1,500 charged after the birth; in Indiana, a high-risk delivery this year totaled more than $24,000; in Colorado last year, a hospital sent a mother a $14,000 bill for her uncomplicated hospital delivery without so much as an epidural, $5,000 of which she was forced to pay out of pocket.
Maybe if we deregulated healthcare costs we could make cheap affordable birth care, or maybe women who are fertile should have maternity care in their plan? Tons of solutions that don’t involve me paying for your irresponsibility.
This would require veteran pro-lifers to take on a trifecta of onerous tasks: moving on from a narrow fixation on regulating the practice of abortion itself; taking up welfare as a cause just as worthy of political agitation as abortion; and overcoming a veritable addiction to liberal tears, indisputably the highest goal of American politics at this point in time, and which militates against human flourishing in every case. It’s time the pro-life movement chose life.
No it requires women to stop being whores, that’s all. Quit making poor life decisions.

How do you make it more affordable to have kids, which is necessary given the cratered birthrate, while not enabling irresponsible behavior?
Well there was marriage breaks to make raising children easier, then we bastardized that. It’s pretty simple the more we enable single moms the more they will continue to exist. The Russian solution was what they are aiming for now, government funded frigid mothers who despise their own children. We need to eliminate the communist rot. Strike down no fault divorce, make people responsible for their actions, and completely reform sex education from the child rapists Kinsey, Money, and Foucault. It’s going to entail a lot of harshness, many women are going to live in poverty, but eventually society will reform toward structured cohesion. The only other answer is to repeal the 19th and civil rights act if women truly can’t be held accountable to their own actions. There’s no way to currently stop women being whores, but to continually enable them has led us to here.
People are already not getting married because of no fault divorce, good luck trying to sell “no one will get married when you have both parties accountable”. Or is this where we pretend that women haven’t raised sexual partner counts in the past century exponentially? Holding people accountable for their actions is the only way to make these children behave.

People are not going to get into something when it's impossible to get out of it. Not today.

I guess they're all lesbians.

It’s adorable you can’t make an argument so you cry incel. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Men would line up to get married if no fault divorce was repealed. This makes it so women can’t whore off and not lose everything.
I support getting rid of no-fault divorce when the time is right. With the current cultural mores, it would probably be a disaster. As for your supposed motivation: there are far narrower ways in which 'whoring off' can be prevented, like punishing the party engaged in adultery.
Poor women already have the most kids while the highest income bracket has the most abortions. It's not a matter of financial incentives.
I don't think that follows. Higher income brackets may just have more to lose from having children (i.e., careers, vacations in Europe, college funds, higher investment in offspring) and have a better ability to prevent having children.
It's true that it's not only a matter of financial incentives. But it's certainly that.
Spez: The NSDAP did have an effective program of giving newly weds a decent sized loan and 25% was forgiven for every child.
Make everything free. Why not? We have free fucking phones, free fucking healthcare, free fucking food. I mean, all of this if you don't make any money on paper. Throw in a free fucking pod and some free bugs, and you're set.

If you do that in the current environment, people will simply not marry. How come people here cannot think even two steps ahead?
With whom are they being 'whores'?

It's worth trying.
First off, not cause super inflation and destroy production.
Wrong question. Just make birth control illegal.
Fuck that. Spay and neuter your foreign aid uniceftards. Also the retarded.
I'm talking about stuff that is actually likely.
IDGAF whether abortion is legal or not. I don't care one way or another.
Not my responsibility to subsidize single mothers even more than I already do through taxes.
Can't afford to get pregnant and become a single mother? Don't raw dog irresponsible rando losers.
Convenient, near perfect contraceptives are universally available at low cost, use them.
Births of what race?
