This is probably asking too much for a leaf, but have they tried impolite and non-peaceful obstruction? Because it doesn't seem like the peaceful and polite version is working very well.

Artur Pawlowski went that route and was jailed many times.

What's going to happen to these folks if/when they don't pay the fine?

Or are they going to pay it and validate the government's actions? In which case why give even token opposition?

If they go the UK route, Canadian authorities will simply contact the financial institutions of the people they are ''covid-persecuting'' and the bank will do whatever the government asks, including stealing the person's money to give it to the government, or blocking their bank accounts, etc.

Now they know what to do the next time a public official tries to come in.

After they were issued $80,000 in fines, Pastors Rodney and Tracy and members of their church in the vine congregation gathered in the lobby to pray for their persecutors, and the Alberta government.

Their grace always tempers my disgust.

During trial, the Alberta Health inspector admitted she - as part of a police task force aimed at churches - was in the sanctuary as people were praying and as Pastor Tracy's husband, Pastor Rodney Fortin, was preaching from the pulpit. She was wandering around with a clipboard.

(as an aside, the crown prosecutor insists on remaining anonymous, though this is not a gang land trial and no one here is a minor. She is just ashamed of her actions and the chief church hunter-killer of covid)

"regulation is absolutely essential for our safety and the functioning of society" "There is no logical reason to treat health regulations any differently than other regulations (like construction, elevator, food inspection etc) in a church"

https://twitter.com/SheilaGunnReid/status/1541804681977929728

Judge acknowledges that there is no evidence of any covid non-compliance. "this was a deliberate and intentional act" Calls the gravity of the offence high and cites long covid for some reason

https://twitter.com/SheilaGunnReid/status/1541805301434765313

Judge says she must prevent the offender from doing this again and the sentence must act as a deterrent. (deterrent from what? never having an outbreak? protecting the church from the state? loving and ministering to a congregation of the entirely willing?)

No evidence of non compliance yet still has to prevent the offender from doing this again

Doing what again, then?

No evidence of non compliance, so, do what again, exactly?

Anonymous judge is a coward

Pathetic

Her "non compliance" was literally just "come back when we're not engaged in active worship services".

They even arranged an appointment with the health gestapo, and the inspector no showed. If it was so important they got access, why didn't they arrive to their appointment early or at least at all?

On the books, interfering with a religious worship ceremony is a criminal offence in Canada.

This is why cops acted so akwardly when violating the right of assembly and freedom of religion of people in churches. They knew what they were doing was wrong and unprecedented.

But don't worry, they didn't disrupt many Mosque and Temple worships. ( They rarely gave warnings outside, no intrusion. )

THAT would have been bad. /s

Sounds like the church accepts this, and they probably even pay taxes to show their support.
