No idea if he was vaxxed or not but it fits the bill--healthy guy, blood pressure spikes, kidney failure, random heart attack.
Enjoyed his work for over a decade. Always seemed to be above the messy political fights, even when his faggy "friends" got ass mad and dumped him for refusing to censor comments that made the token chick mad. He deserved better than those cretins. Also a religious guy from his own words.

Not really. mRNA gets in your blood and it attacks the first cell it comes in contact with. Wikipedia says 20% of your blood flow is through the kidneys so they're a prime target for mRNA.
Probably not reported much because people have two and don't notice when one gets damaged by the vax.

I've drifted away from his blog over the years, but it's still sad to hear.
When his blood pressure sent him to hospital last year, he thought it was twenty years of a coder's lifestyle catching up with him. Certainly the way he talked about Dark Souls suggested he'd had problems with his blood pressure long before COVID.
Kidney damage is a side effect of Remdesivir, the first thing they give you when you go to the hospital with covid. I don't think he ever mentioned having it but he also avoided any level of controversy like the plague so we'll probably never know.
RIP, he did good analyses and breakdowns, can learn a lot about story and plot design from his post-mortems
pre gamergate i read some of his stuff on escapist, he seemed to have a decent head on his shoulders
